Riyadh Metro: Map & Route

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and AtomtechStudio, Gurugram, India ("we", "us"). They cover your use of the Riyadh Metro: Map & Route app for Android and iOS (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms are available in English and Arabic. If the two differ, the Arabic version applies to users in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

1. What the App is

The App is an independent travel guide for the Riyadh Metro. It offers:

• a network map
• a route planner
• estimated journey and arrival times
• fares and operating hours
• the nearest stations
• a live trip view and smart alarm
• places to visit

The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Riyadh Metro, Darb, the metro operators or any government entity.

The App does not sell tickets and does not process payments. Tickets are sold through the official Darb app and at stations. Any purchase you make there is between you and that service, under its own terms.

2. Information is a guide only

We work to keep the information in the App accurate and up to date, but:

• journey times, arrival times and the time of the next train are estimates based on distances and typical speeds, not live train data;

• operating hours, fares, lines and stations can change, for example during Ramadan, public holidays, maintenance or service disruptions, and the App may not reflect a change straight away;

• station, line and location data comes from public sources listed in the App's store description, and may contain errors.

Always follow official signs, announcements and station staff, and check official sources before you travel. Do not rely on the App for anything where an error could cause harm or loss, such as catching a flight.

3. Live trip and smart alarm

The live trip view and smart alarm are aids, not guarantees. They only work while the App is open on your screen and, for live tracking, while your phone has a GPS signal. GPS is often unavailable underground, so times between stations are estimated.

The smart alarm may not sound if the App is closed or in the background, your phone is locked or muted, your battery is low, or the operating system stops the App. Stay aware of your stop yourself. We are not responsible for missed stops, missed connections or any resulting cost.

4. Your use of the App

You agree to:

• use the App only for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning;

• stay alert and safe: do not use the App in a way that distracts you on platforms, stairs, escalators or roads;

• follow the rules of the Riyadh public transport network and the instructions of its staff;

• not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the App or its content, except as the law allows;

• not reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the App's source code, except as the law allows;

• not use the App for any unlawful purpose, or interfere with its operation or with the services it connects to.

5. Location

Some features use your device's location if you allow it. You can turn location access off at any time in your device settings. How location is used is explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. Advertising

The App is free and may show advertisements from third-party ad networks. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for the products and services they offer. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and the advertiser. Your choices about personalised ads are explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party services and links

The App uses or links to services we do not control, for example:

• Google Maps for walking directions
• OpenStreetMap / OpenFreeMap map images
• Google Firebase for data updates
• the app stores
• ad networks

Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

8. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, text, graphics and the arrangement of its content, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.

Third-party content keeps its own terms:

• Station and line data: Royal Commission for Riyadh City open data, KSA Open Data License.

• Street map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database License.

Line names, colours and station names are used only to describe the network. Names and trademarks of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Riyadh Metro, Darb and others belong to their owners. Using them here does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

9. Updates and availability

We may update, change, suspend or stop the App, or any feature, at any time. This includes updating the metro data automatically when you are online. We do not promise that the App will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. Some updates may be needed to keep using the App.

10. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the App and its information are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. This includes missed trains, stops, connections, flights or appointments, and extra travel costs.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App, which is zero for the free App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be limited by contract.

12. App Store terms (iOS)

If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store:

• These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its content.

• Your licence is limited to using the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

• If the App fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent allowed by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.

• We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to the App, such as product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.

• If a third party claims that the App infringes its intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.

• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections 2, 3, 8, 10, 11 and 14 continue after that.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes will be settled by the competent courts in Riyadh, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we may also tell you in the App. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the new Terms.
